Abstract
In this talk, Dr. Liang will give an overview of different types of RF and microwave devices components and subsystems, and conduct system analyses from components and subsystem point of view, from which the new trend for the RF/microwave components for the wireless communication industry will be deducted. The scopes of the considerations in the talk include: 1) different frequency ranges (200 MHz to 200 GHz); 2) different materials (metallic, ceramic, plastics, LTCC etc.); 3) different applications (wireless, satellite, autonomous driving); 4) different control methods (tunable filters); 5) different environment; 6) different power levels; 7) different communication protocols; and 8) different manufacturing processes.
Speaker Biography
Dr. Gordon GC Liang received his B.S. from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in 1982，M.S. from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 1985 and Ph.D. from University of California at Berkeley in 1990, USA.
Dr. Liang has extensive knowledge and practical industrial experience in wireless communications, microwave, millimeter wave and THz technologies, AI/VI and low temperature electronics and computation, superconductors, semiconductor circuit and processing, satellite communications, quantum electronic and bio engineering, and network access. He has published over 50 top notch IEEE publications papers, wrote 3 books and chapters, and supervised two Ph. D students. He has hold over 300 patents.
Dr. Liang is IEEE senior member, Chairman of Silicon Valley communication chapter, test instrumentation chapter. He had been involved in many IEEE activities, including IEEE MTT-S superconductivities, IEEE IMS steering committee. He was the senior advisor for Ericsson Superconductivity, Itochu senior advisor on telecommunication.
Dr. Liang in an enthusiastic and successful entrepreneur. He founded and cofounded Eagle Communication Inc., Aspire Communication Inc., Conductus Inc., Linksage Inc., Allrizon Communication Technology Corporation(奥雷通讯), Pivotone Communication Technology Co. (贝孚德), and Zhi Shang Yuan (智熵原), etc.
